The first discharge you mention is a lubricant for your vagina and is produced in the vagina. It's a bit like mucous - it forms a protective barrier to shield the vaginal walls from tears and bacterial infections. When girls ejaculate, however, they squirt out of the urethra - the same place urine comes from, but the substance is different. Not a whole lot is known about female ejaculation, but the best hypothesis is that the fluid comes from the Skene's glands, which are prostate tissue quite similar to that found in males, though much smaller. Chemical tests on female ejaculate reveal high levels of PSA (prostate-specific antigen) and low levels of urea and creatinine, typical marker of urine. I highly doubt this fluid serves any reproductive purpose beyond making sex more pleasurable, but like I said, very little is known about female ejaculation and sexologists are just beginning to study it. |
